VIENTIANE, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Inflation in Laos continued a downward trend in October, dropping to 4 percent from 4.5 percent in September, official data showed on Wednesday.
The highest price rise was recorded in goods and services category, which stood at 24.4 percent.
This was followed by housing, water, electricity and gas at 16.7 percent, the medical care and medicines category at 12.9 percent, and the education category at 11.5 percent.
The Lao government has worked to stimulate economic growth and bring inflation under control. ■
