NEW DELHI, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were electrocuted and 10 others injured, six of them critically, on Tuesday after a bus carrying them came in contact with an overhead high-tension wire in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, police said.
The accident took place in Manoharpur village of Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.
The injured were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, and of them, the condition of six is said to be critical and they have been referred to Sawai Maan Singh hospital.
Preliminary investigations carried out by the police showed that there were Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders kept on the top of the bus, along with other household items, which aggravated the situation.
"The bus was carrying 15 LPG cylinders, of which two exploded," a local television news channel quoted a fire department official as having said.
The firefighters from the fire department have managed to douse the fire, and police have launched an investigation into the accident. ■
