COLOMBO, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- One person died and 10 others were injured in a bus accident that took place in Sri Lanka's northern province on Wednesday, police said.
The driver of the privately owned bus lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a tree, police said.
The deceased was a 29-year-old man, and eight other males and two females were admitted to regional hospitals.
Police were conducting an investigation.
Road accidents involving buses are common in Sri Lanka. ■
