SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Price for goods and service among South Korean suppliers rebounded last month owing to rate hikes for residential electricity and industrial natural gas, central bank data showed Wednesday.

The producer price index (PPI) gained 0.4 percent in September from a month earlier after falling 0.1 percent in the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

Price for electricity, natural gas and tap water advanced 1.1 percent in September on a monthly basis after making no change in August.

The turnaround was attributed to hikes in residential electricity rates and industrial gas charges, which jumped 14.4 percent and 5.8 percent each last month.

Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers added 0.4 percent last month, slower than an increase of 3.4 percent in the previous month.

Producer price for industrial products, including oil products, rose 0.2 percent in September compared to the prior month, after being unchanged in August.
