PHNOM PENH, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia has recorded 5.1 million international air passengers in the first nine months of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 14 percent, a report said on Tuesday.
Released by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), the report said a total of 32 international and domestic airlines had operated 47,637 flights to the kingdom's three international airports during the January-September period this year, up 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
The report added that the Southeast Asian country also registered a 14-percent rise in air cargo volume to 64,513 tons during the period.
Cambodia was forecast to attract around 7.5 million air passengers in 2025, up from 6.24 million in 2024, SSCA's Secretary of State and spokesperson Sinn Chanserey Vutha said.
He was confident that Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, which was put into official use in November 2023, and Techo International Airport, which opened to official operations on Oct. 20, 2025, would help attract more international airlines and passengers to Cambodia. ■
