Investment forum in Tajikistan sees over 3 bln USD in agreements

DUSHANBE, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-six major agreements worth about 3.12 billion U.S. dollars were signed on the first day of the "Dushanbe Invest 2025" International Investment Forum, the Khovar news agency reported Wednesday, citing Tajikistan's State Committee on Investments and State Property Management.

In particular, five agreements worth 2.4 billion dollars were concluded in the energy sector, nine agreements worth 386 million dollars in industry, and several worth 333.5 million dollars in communications, all aimed at developing infrastructure and improving the quality of services for citizens and businesses.

Additionally, four public-private partnership agreements totaling 8.9 million dollars were signed.

The forum also saw the signing of a memorandum between the energy committee and two memoranda with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"Dushanbe Invest 2025" is being held in the Tajik capital from Oct. 14 to 16 under the theme "Green Economy: Today's Opportunities for a Sustainable Future."

The event brings together more than 1,000 participants, including representatives of governments, international organizations, major companies and financial institutions from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
