BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 jolted Drake Passage at 2029 GMT on Friday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 60.13 degrees south latitude and 61.80 degrees west longitude, it said.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake's magnitude was 7.6, with a depth of 10.5 km. ■
