JAKARTA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia exported 206,700 tons of coffee between January and June 2025, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) said on Wednesday.

The coffee was shipped to various destinations, including the United States, Japan, and countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

"Indonesia is one of the world's largest coffee producers, with more than 90 percent of plantations managed by smallholder farmers," said Bagus Rachman, deputy for medium enterprises at the ministry.

One recent highlight was the shipment of 15 tons of Arabica coffee from 568 farmers on the slopes of Mount Argopuro in East Java to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The ministry has launched an MSME plantation cluster holding program to build an integrated supply chain ecosystem linking micro, small, medium, and large enterprises, allowing key commodities like coffee to achieve higher added value.

Statistics Indonesia reported that the country's coffee exports in 2024 reached 1.63 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 76.3 percent from the previous year.
