KATHMANDU, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Foreign tourist arrivals in Nepal declined 18.3 percent in September over the same month of last year, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Tuesday.
A total of 78,711 foreigners visited the country last month, down from 96,302 in September of last year, the board said in a report.
India, the United States and China contributed most of the travelers to Nepal, the report said, noting the country received 815,273 foreign tourists in total in the past nine months.
Tourism is a major source of foreign exchange and job opportunities for Nepal. ■
