HANOI, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam has underscored the need to develop fundamental digital infrastructure, including cloud computing, high-performance computing, 5G and 6G data centers.
He made the remarks on Wednesday at Innovate Vietnam 2025, a major science, technology and innovation event held in Hanoi.
To Lam said Vietnam should enhance its mastery of national technology, particularly in core and foundational fields and called for clear roadmaps to advance in areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, big data and cybersecurity.
He also urged every Vietnamese citizen to embrace innovation in their daily work.
According to the World Intellectual Property Organization, Vietnam ranked 44th among 139 economies in the 2025 Global Innovation Index, Vietnam News Agency reported. ■
