NEW DELHI, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indian security forces gunned down three armed rebels belonging to the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) in the country's eastern state of Jharkhand, local police confirmed on Wednesday.
The encounter between security personnel and armed rebels took place in the state's Gumla district at around 8:00 a.m. local time.
Among the slain armed rebels were JJMP's two sub-zonal commanders and one area commander. The police recovered one AK-47 rifle, one SLR and some other ammunition from the spot. ■
