SEOUL, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A South Korean fighter jet ran off an air base runway, with no casualty reported, Yonhap news agency said Tuesday.
The KF-16 fighter jet went off the runway at an air base in the central city of Chungju at about 4:38 p.m. local time (0738 GMT) while preparing to take off for training.
No injury was reported from the pilot, while damage to the single-seat fighter jet was yet to be known.
The aircraft stopped on the ground after veering off the runway, while the pilot got off on foot with no emergency escape.
The air force will form an investigation team to determine whether the accident was caused by a defective aircraft or the pilot's mistake. ■
