KATHMANDU, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Committed foreign direct investments (FDI) into Nepal nearly tripled during the first two months of the current 2025-26 fiscal year, the Department of Industry said on Friday.
Nepal received FDI commitments worth 33.09 billion rupees between mid-July and mid-September.
The agriculture, tourism and service sectors attracted most of the pledged investments.
In contrast, FDI commitments to Nepal stood at 12.12 billion rupees during the same period of the 2024-25 fiscal year, and the total figure was 64.96 billion rupees for the fiscal year, the department noted. (1 Nepali rupee equals 0.0071 U.S. dollar) ■
