WELLINGTON, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 World of WearableArt (WOW) show was staged Friday in New Zealand's capital Wellington, with 25 awards handed out to leading international designers.
Dawn Mostow and Ben Gould of the United States won the event's top honor, the Supreme WOW Award, chosen from 85 finalist garments by 100 designers representing 17 countries.
WOW head of competition Sarah Nathan said this year's finalists again demonstrated remarkable creativity and technical skills.
"It's exciting to see the wearable art form continue to thrive, grow and push boundaries across craft, storytelling and materials," Nathan said.
First held in 1987, WOW has developed into a global competition that combines art and design, with a theatrical showcase attended annually by more than 60,000 people, according to organizers. ■
