KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The cultural series themed "A Moonmoment to Remember -- Blossoms of Chengdu" was held in Kuwait on Tuesday and Wednesday, presenting Chinese artistic performances and exhibitions to local audiences.
Kuwait's landmark Avenues Mall staged a pop-up performance that drew large crowds on Tuesday evening. The program featured dance, folk music, acrobatics, martial arts and Sichuan opera's face-changing, earning waves of applause.
The themed performance -- a blend of traditional and modern Chinese art forms -- attracted an audience of over 1,000 at its peak on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, the cultural exhibition "Chengdu: More than Giant Pandas" and the Chengdu Intangible Cultural Heritage showcase opened on the same day. Featuring panda-themed artworks, VR experiences, live demonstrations of palm weaving, dough figurines, paper-cutting and sugar painting, the exhibitions will run at the China Cultural Center in Kuwait until Oct. 17.
Liu Jinhong, director of the China Cultural Center in Kuwait, told Xinhua that the series has provided Kuwaiti audiences with a window into the charm of Chengdu and the richness of Chinese culture.
Guided by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, the events were hosted by the China Cultural Center in Kuwait and Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcast-TV, and Tourism. ■
