PHNOM PENH, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Turkish Airlines will start direct flights from Istanbul, the largest city of Türkiye, to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, from Dec. 10, said a news release from Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday.
The announcement was made after a meeting on Tuesday afternoon in Phnom Penh between Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Umit Develi, vice president of Turkish Airlines.
Hak supported the airline for the upcoming launch of the first-ever direct flights from Istanbul to the recently opened Techo International Airport, saying that it would bring more tourists and investors to the Southeast Asian country. ■
