SINGAPORE, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's manufacturing output rose 7.1 percent year-on-year in July, maintaining the same growth pace as in June, according to data released Tuesday by the Economic Development Board.

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output jumped 8.2 percent in July, reversing June's 0.8 percent decline.

Year-on-year, the transport engineering cluster recorded the largest increase in output at 15.8 percent. Within the cluster, the aerospace segment surged 22.7 percent, supported by higher production of aircraft parts and continued maintenance, repair, and overhaul work from commercial airlines. The marine and offshore engineering segment grew 11.7 percent, driven by increased shipyard activity.

Other clusters posting year-on-year growth included electronics, precision engineering, chemicals, and biomedical manufacturing.

In contrast, the general manufacturing cluster experienced a year-on-year decline.
