KABUL, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have dismantled three clandestine drug processing labs and confiscated over 5,800 kg of illicit drugs in western Farah province, the office of the Deputy Minister of Interior for Counter-Narcotics said in a statement on Sunday.
Units of counter-narcotic police launched separate operations on the outskirts of the Farah Rud, Bakwa, and Por Chaman districts of the province, the statement asserted.
The statement added that the drugs were used in the manufacturing of heroin.
In a separate operation in the same province, security forces arrested two individuals accused of smuggling 103 kg of opium, the ministry reported. ■
