KABUL, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have arrested five suspects, including a woman, in connection with the killing of a family in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the local media Tolonews reported Saturday.
The detainees were allegedly involved in a deadly incident in Surkh Rod district of the province, where six members of a family were shot and stabbed to death, the report said.
The suspects had attempted to steal valuable household items and passports from the targeted home before committing the murders, the report said, adding that the arrested individuals are currently under investigations. ■
