ALMATY, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday chaired a meeting on the economy and budget planning, where officials presented reports on the current economic situation, future development prospects and parameters of the 2026-28 state budget.
Tokayev stressed the need for careful planning and efficient use of financial resources at both the national and local levels. He said the budget must remain balanced while covering social commitments and long-term regional development plans, with funds allocated and spent as intended.
He added that sustainable growth depends on consistent fiscal policy and tighter monitoring to improve transparency and accountability in public spending. ■
