BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted southeast of Loyalty Islands at 1208 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 23.20 degrees south latitude and 170.63 degrees east longitude. ■
