HONG KONG, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted the Tonga Islands Region at 0438 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 18.40 degrees south latitude and 172.39 degrees west longitude. ■
