BEIRUT, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and two others were wounded in two separate Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, the Lebanese state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The agency said a drone struck a car on the Haris-Hadatha main road with two missiles, killing one person. In a second attack, a drone hit a motorcycle in the village of Zebqine, injuring two people.

A ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel has been in place since Nov. 27, 2024, following more than a year of clashes triggered by the war in Gaza.

Under the deal, Israel was to withdraw entirely from southern Lebanon by Feb. 18 this year. However, it continues to hold five positions in the area and has carried out airstrikes in the south and east, saying they are aimed at removing threats from Hezbollah.
