KABUL, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday strongly condemned Israel's decision to take full control of Gaza City, calling it a dangerous escalation that will worsen the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
In a statement, the ministry described the move as an alarming step that would expand the scope of the conflict and further endanger the lives of Palestinians.
The ministry urged influential international actors, particularly countries in the region with significant political leverage, to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities to prevent the humanitarian situation in Gaza from deteriorating further.
The statement emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the establishment of safe channels for the delivery of humanitarian aid. ■
