BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted east of Kuril Islands at 1404 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 50.16 degrees north latitude and 159.63 degrees east longitude. ■
