ISLAMABAD, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least four people, including three members of Pakistan's Frontier Corps (FC) and a driver, were killed in a terrorist attack in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Karak district when the security members were travelling for field security duty, according to police.
A local police official told Xinhua that armed assailants positioned atop a hill opened fire on the vehicle using small arms, causing the deaths of four occupants on the spot.
Following the attack, security forces and police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surrounding mountainous terrain to trace the attackers, said the official. ■
