YANGON, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Eight people have died in landslides in southern Myanmar's Kayin state, according to the state's fire services department on Wednesday.
Heavy rain triggered landslides that killed four people on Tuesday and four on Wednesday, an official from the department told Xinhua.
The landslides also affected 56 people and destroyed 12 houses, he said, adding that the affected people have been moved to nearby houses. ■
