JAKARTA, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's free medical screening program has reached 16 million people since its launch on Feb. 10 this year, according to Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Monday.
"As of yesterday, 16 million people have been screened. Now, I see an average of 250,000 to 280,000 children being tested daily," he said.
Dental and vision problems are the most commonly found health issues, Budi added, while also warning about the dangers of excessive gadget use.
Chief of the Presidential Staff Office, AM Putranto, said the government aims to reach 58.2 million people through the free medical screening program.
Putranto stated that this is a preventive effort for the long-term health of the Indonesian population. ■
