MINSK, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A drone with explosives was intercepted and shot down early Tuesday morning in Minsk, the Belarusian capital, local authorities said.
Air defence forces detected the unmanned aerial vehicle around 2 a.m. Tuesday local time (2300 GMT Monday) and neutralised it using electronic warfare, the Defense Ministry said on its Telegram channel.
The drone reportedly crashed near a house in northwestern Minsk, damaging several vehicles parked nearby, the country's Investigative Committee said. No injuries were reported.
The drone did not detonate but was carrying a warhead filled with trinitrotoluene, commonly known as TNT, and metal ball projectiles, the committee said.
The ministry said additional airspace security measures have been taken following the incident. ■
