DUBAI, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Dubai International Airport (DXB) said on Tuesday that it recorded 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025, marking a 2.3 percent year-on-year increase and the highest ever for a six-month period.
During the first half of the year, the airport averaged 7.7 million passengers per month, with a daily average of 254,000. January was the busiest month, with 8.5 million passengers, the DXB said in a statement.
India remained the top destination, with 5.9 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia with 3.6 million, and Britain with 3 million. London topped the list of busiest cities served, with 1.8 million travelers.
The DXB expects passenger traffic to reach 96 million by the end of 2025, up from a record 92 million last year, the statement added, noting the surge would be driven by late-summer travel peaks and major upcoming events, including the Dubai Airshow 2025.
Dubai International Airport has been ranked among the world's busiest airports since 2014, thanks to its strategic location and infrastructure strength. ■
