SYDNEY, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Two aircraft have been damaged in separate collisions with ground equipment at major international airports in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia.

Virgin Australia on Monday confirmed that one of its aircraft, a Boeing 737, collided with a towing vehicle at Melbourne Airport on Sunday night.

A spokesperson for the airport said that no passengers were on board and no ground staff were injured in the incident.

In a separate incident at the Brisbane Airport on Saturday, a Fiji Airways Boeing 737 MAX was damaged in a collision with an aerobridge.

There were no reported injuries and all passengers disembarked via stairs.

It was the third time in 2025 that an aircraft and an aerobridge had collided at Brisbane Airport, following similar incidents involving an Air New Zealand Boeing 777 in May and a Qantas Boeing 737 in June.
