SYDNEY, July 25 (Xinhua) -- A man has died after being crushed under a forklift at his workplace in southwest Sydney.
Emergency services were called to reports of a workplace incident at a business in the suburb of Prestons, 32 km southwest of central Sydney, at about 5:40 a.m. local time on Friday.
Police officers arrived to find the man, believed to be in his 20s, trapped under a forklift with critical injuries.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics but died from his injuries a short time later.
A crime scene was set up and detectives have launched an investigation into the incident.
SafeWork, the government agency responsible for occupational health and safety, has also been notified.
Police said that a report on the man's death would be prepared for the coroner. ■
