YANGON, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's Department of Fisheries aims to export over 530,000 tons of fishery products in the current fiscal year 2025-2026, aiming to earn 750 million U.S. dollars, state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday.
The country exported 82,773 tons of fishery products in the first quarter (April-June), earning 119.6 million dollars, the report said.
Myanmar is working to boost the productivity of the agriculture and livestock sectors, contributing to self-sufficiency and exports, it said.
The country exports seafood to 40 countries, including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan, through maritime and border trade routes, it added. ■
