NEW DELHI, July 23 (Xinhua) -- At least nine people were killed and a few others feared trapped after a portion of a coal mine collapsed in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, officials said Wednesday.
The collapse took place on Tuesday night.
Experts say the coal mining industry is poorly regulated, and workers with little protection often face life-threatening situations. ■
