JAKARTA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government will introduce new economic stimulus packages in the third quarter to strengthen people's purchasing power, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Haryo Limanseto, spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, said that the upcoming program is the continuation of stimulus packages previously launched from June to July.
"The new policy is still being drafted, and it will likely be finalized this week," Haryo told reporters, adding that discussions on the details of the program are currently underway.
The Indonesian government had rolled out various stimulus measures during the June-July period, aiming to support household spending and stimulate domestic consumption, particularly during the school holiday season. ■
