SYDNEY, July 23 (Xinhua) -- One teenager has died and another has suffered serious injuries in a jet ski crash in southern Sydney in Australia's state of New South Wales (NSW).
A police statement said on Tuesday that emergency services were called to reports of people in the water in the Georges River in the suburb of Sylvania, 17 km southwest of central Sydney, after a jet ski crashed at approximately 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
Officers attended the scene and found a 15-year-old boy deceased in the water.
A second boy, aged 14, was rescued by an officer and was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene for a severed arm before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced. ■
