ISTANBUL, July 22 (Xinhua) -- The 17th International Defence Industry Fair kicked off here on Tuesday, with a wide array of new defense technologies being showcased for six days.
The event, held every two years since 1993, has attracted 219 delegations and 937 officials from 99 countries to attend this year, with more than 400 international and 1,000 Turkish companies unveiling their latest innovations.
Among the debuts are the ADVENT combat management system and AI-powered navigation assistant Bluevision, both by Türkiye's leading defense company Havelsan.
Another leading Turkish defense company, Aselsan, will showcase over 300 locally-engineered products.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Türkiye is "ready for" developing long-term, multidimensional partnerships based on a win-win approach.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Turkish Defence Industries Haluk Gorgun said the event aims to expand market reach and foster business partnerships for both major industry players and SMEs across the defense, aerospace, and cybersecurity sectors. ■
