YANGON, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A Bluetooth speaker left charging sparked a fire that destroyed eight homes in central Myanmar's Mandalay region, according to the Mandalay Region Fire Services Department on Sunday.
The fire broke out around 7:53 p.m. local time on Saturday in Mahaaungmye township in Mandalay region, an official from the department told Xinhua.
The fire started while a Bluetooth speaker was being charged. Its battery burst and ignited nearby clothes, causing the fire to spread, he said.
A total of 37 people from 13 households were affected. No deaths were reported, he added. ■
