NEW DELHI, July 19 (Xinhua) -- At least six persons died and 30 others were injured in two separate road accidents, which occurred a few kilometers away from each other in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, confirmed police sources.

Both accidents occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on the Yamuna Expressway. According to the police, drivers dozing off at the wheel led to both mishaps.

In the first accident, a vehicle carrying six persons from Delhi to Agra city in Uttar Pradesh, rammed into another vehicle at a high speed, instantly killing all the six people.

In the second mishap, which occurred just a few kilometers away from the first accident, a bus moving from Delhi towards the central state of Madhya Pradesh collided with a road divider and toppled.

There were over 30 passengers inside the ill-fated bus. All received injuries, with some in critical condition.
