RIO DE JANEIRO, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo has reached an agreement with Premier League club Nottingham Forest to sign defensive midfielder Danilo Oliveira, the Brazilian Serie A side said on Friday.
The 24-year-old agreed to a five-year deal, with the transfer fee reportedly set at 22 million euros. He is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro this weekend to undergo a medical.
Danilo made 62 appearances across all competitions for Nottingham Forest following his 2023 move from Palmeiras.
He is seen as a direct replacement for Gregore, who was sold to Qatar's Al-Rayyan earlier in the week.
Botafogo is currently sixth in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings and will meet LDU Quito in the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores in August. ■
