PHNOM PENH, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported 7.83 million tons of agricultural products in the first half of 2025, up more than 27 percent from 6.13 million tons over the same period last year, said a Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries report on Saturday.
The kingdom earned a total revenue of 2.87 billion U.S. dollars from the commodity exports during the January-June period this year, the report said.
Main agricultural items for exports included rice, rubber, cassava, mangoes, yellow bananas, pepper, cashew nuts, longans, corn, and palm oil, among others.
Agriculture is one of the four pillars supporting Cambodia's economy in addition to garment, footwear, and travel goods export, tourism, and construction and real estate.
Im Rachna, an undersecretary of state for Cambodia's agriculture ministry, said China is one of the major markets for Cambodia's agricultural produce.
"The purchase of our agricultural products by China and other friendly countries has significantly contributed to the development of Cambodia's agriculture and brought a lot of benefits to our people, particularly farmers," she told Xinhua recently. ■
