JERUSALEM, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Israeli EuroLeague basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Tuesday in a statement the signing of NBA player Oshae Brissett on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old Canadian forward won the NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2024 after playing in 10 playoff games, including three in the finals series against the Dallas Mavericks.
Brissett began his NBA career in 2019 after playing college basketball at Syracuse University. He has played 233 NBA regular-season games with the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, and most recently with the Philadelphia 76ers last season, averaging 6.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.
"I'm joining the most decorated club on the planet to win some more trophies," Brissett said. "I'm grateful for the opportunity and can't wait to meet the fans."
Maccabi's General Manager Claudio Coldebella said, "It's great to bring a former NBA champion to Tel Aviv. Oshae can play in various positions, and thanks to his athleticism, energy, and desire to compete, he is always very useful in many aspects of the game." ■
