PRAGUE, July 15 (Xinhua) -- China lost to Canada 115-52 in Group B at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup on Tuesday, concluding its group stage campaign with three straight defeats at the tournament in Brno, Czech Republic.
Canada jumped to an early 15-0 lead before Li Yuqian ended the scoring drought for China with five minutes and 13 seconds left in the first quarter. The Canadian girls improved to 32-8 at the end of this quarter and maintained their dominance until the final buzzer.
Canada's Avery Howell was instrumental in their victory, shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 from the line to lead all scorers with 26 points, while China's Ran Kejia contributed a team-high 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Finishing fourth in Group B, China will play the winner of Group A in the round of 16 on Wednesday. ■
