JAKARTA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- At least two people died and three others are still missing after a boat carrying a total of 20 people capsized off Pasir Panjang, Pasuruan in the Indonesian province of East Java on Sunday afternoon, local media reported on Monday.
According to a preliminary report, the people on the boat consisted of one captain, one crew, and 18 people who wanted to fish in the sea. The boat was struck by waves while on its way back to the shore.
Fishermen nearby immediately came to rescue, moving some victims to their boats.
However, as of Monday morning, two people have been found dead while three others have gone missing.
Rescuers are currently working together with police and military personnel to search for the missing victims. ■
