MOSCOW, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The training center of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) was attacked by three Ukrainian drones on Sunday evening, the plant's Russia-installed administration said Monday.
The strike, which landed 250 to 300 meters from the plant's first power unit, caused no fire or critical damage. An investigation is underway to assess the extent of the impact, the administration added.
Despite the attack, the plant continues to operate normally with all necessary precautions in place. "The safety of the plant's operation remains intact," said the administration.
The training center houses a full-scale simulator of a nuclear reactor control room, vital for staff training and certification.
The ZNPP, located near Energodar on the left bank of the Dnieper River, comprised six reactors, each with a capacity of 1 gigawatt. ■
