CORDOBA, Argentina, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A late own goal from Colombian midfielder Juan Portilla gave San Lorenzo a 2-1 away win over Talleres Cordoba on Friday in their opening match of Argentina's Primera Division Clausura tournament.
Alexis Cuello gave the visitors the lead by running onto Ezequiel Cerutti's pass and chipping a shot over goalkeeper Guido Herrera.
Luis Sequeira equalized after combining with Ruben Botta and sending a low 25-yard effort into the bottom-left corner.
Portilla then gifted the Buenos Aires side the winner, heading Matias Reali's floating free kick into his own net.
"We settled in well in the second half, played smart and were able to score at a key moment," San Lorenzo manager Damian Ayude said after the match.
"Little by little the players are starting to put some of our ideas into practice on the pitch," added Ayude, who took charge of the first team in June after Miguel Angel Russo's departure.
In Friday's only other Primera Division match, Aldosivi was held to a goalless home draw by Central Cordoba. ■
