WASHINGTON, July 9 (Xinhua) -- U.S. wholesale inventories declined slightly in May, according to the data released Wednesday by the Census Bureau.
Total inventories of merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers' sales branches and offices, were 905.5 billion U.S. dollars at the end of May, down 0.3 percent from the revised April level, the Census Bureau reported.
Total inventories went up 1.4 percent year on year.
The decrease was in line with estimates.
This occurred following tariffs on many trading partners announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. ■
