KABUL, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Afghan counter-narcotics police have seized 13 kg of Ice (methamphetamine) and heroin in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the office of the deputy minister of interior for counter-narcotics said in a statement on Wednesday.
The contraband, which included 10 kg of heroin and three kg of methamphetamine, was discovered in a series of routine police operations on the outskirts of Jalalabad city, the capital of the province, the statement said.
Four individuals were arrested in connection with the cases, and their dossiers will be referred to the judiciary for further investigations.
In addition, police discovered 40 kg of opium in the eastern Wardak province on Tuesday. ■
