ISTANBUL, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Turkish authorities have seized 365 kg of drugs and detained 26 suspects in a coordinated anti-drug operation across six Turkish provinces and the Norwegian capital, Oslo, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on Tuesday.
In a statement on his social media platform X, Yerlikaya said the operations targeted an international network involved in drug production and distribution. The raids were conducted simultaneously in Türkiye and Norway, based on intelligence gathered by the Istanbul Police Department and Interpol branches.
The exact timing of the operation was not disclosed.
According to Yerlikaya, the raids led to the confiscation of 257 kg of skunk, 108 kg of cocaine, and some methamphetamine.
Of the 26 suspects apprehended, 17 were formally arrested, while seven were placed under judicial control pending further proceedings. He said the remaining suspects were still undergoing legal processing on Tuesday. ■
