YANGON, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar and Thailand have held the 26th Myanmar-Thailand Joint Drug Control Meeting in Taunggyi, Myanmar's Shan state, to strengthen cross-border cooperation on drug control, the state-owned daily The Mirror reported on Friday.
Representatives from both sides discussed the current drug situation between the two countries and ongoing joint efforts in drug suppression, and potential areas for future cooperation, the report said.
The discussion included drug seizure, the control of precursor chemicals, drug inspection and analysis, collaboration on reducing drug abuse, the implementation of alternative development projects, and the chairmanship of the 27th meeting in Thailand, it added. ■
